La Sente is the product of two schools that educate and support young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. There were significant overlaps between the two schools, which prompted the decision to develop a one-school provision with a single ethos and also address the growing need for supporting students with social, emotional and mental-health needs.
Students and staff at the former dʼHautrée House School and Alternative Curriculum voted on the new name, which is Jersey-French for ʻthe pathʼ, reflecting the often difficult and undulating journey students undertake to become their “best or true self”. No journey is a simple straight line. Much like life, a path or river can twist and turn, be undulating and have fast and slow sections that meander along the way.
We wanted to create an identity that would be inspiring to the students, make them excited and help them to understand the purpose of La Sente.
The new logo for La Sente has been designed to subtly convey a path, river or shoreline along the gentle bends of an S within the badge. The logo is transformative and contains many features that can be applied to the brand as outlines.
